Siamese cats are beautiful, intelligent, social cats that form strong bonds with their owners. However, finding a Siamese kitten may not be so easy, depending on where you live. If you live in the state of Georgia, youll have to dig deeper and travel to adopt your Siamese kittenthere is only one breeder in the state.
If youre set on using a breeder to find your feline companion, you may find one in a nearby state, or you can try shelters or rescues. You never know if a Siamese kitten will need a forever home from one of those organizations.

The Athens Area Humane Society hosted its annual kitten shower at The Belmont Place on April 25, 2021. The kitten shower, a spinoff of a baby shower, celebrates the shelters newest kittens and brings awareness to kitten season, the time of year when cats start to enter their annual breeding cycle.
The venue had multiple interaction pens set up, each with a litter of kittens where guests could play and cuddle with them.
Brunch food, music and drinks were open for guests to enjoy, and masks were required. Guests were asked to bring donations.

Georgia Pet Foundation awards Circle of Friends Animal Society
COFAS is honored to announce an $8000 grant by the Georgia Pet Foundation to continue providing spay / neuter services to low income families residing within Greene and Putnam Counties. We are very happy to share the goal of reducing the unwanted pet population via spay / neuter programs, foster programs and adoption events.
GPF was established as a 501 non profit organization in April 2016 when Governor Deal signed legislation approving the new tag. Through the sale of specialty license plates and private charitable donations the Georgia Pet Foundation will fund eligible, statewide spay-neuter programs in an effort to eliminate pet overpopulation and the euthanasia of healthy and treatable cats and dogs. GPF license plates may be purchased through your local county tag office. $19 of the fee goes towards the spay / neuter program.
Rescues in 2021
COFAS rescued 1,164 critters in 2021. This was a combination of accepting from animal control facilities and owner surrenders. We never turn anyone away due to pre-existing conditions. We ensure all of our rescues receive the medical care needed to become popular family members.
