How Often Should You Feed Kittens
Most kittens should be fed free-choice until they are around 6 months old because of their high energy requirements.

Mother cats groom their kittens to stimulate urination and defecation on a regular basis. If you are acting as their foster parent, you get this important duty. Very young orphan kittens will not be able to urinate and defecate without your help, so this is a crucial part of neonatal kitten care. Before and after each feeding, gently rub the kitten on its lower abdomen, as well as the genitals and rectum with a cotton ball/pad dipped in warm water or a fragrance free baby wipe. How To Help A Teething Kitten
Do kittens teethe with a lot of pain? There’s bound to be physical discomfort when pointy teeth are poking through sensitive gums but, according to Greencross Vets, this discomfort is typically minimal.
Your kitten will, however, look for ways to relieve the soreness and irritation associated with teething. They may try to use you as a chew toy, which is never a good idea for either of you. Here, as with other acts of aggressive cat play, redirection is the way to go.
One safe option for a chew toy is a cold wet washcloth, which provides an outlet for excessive chewing and relieves some of the tenderness. Commercially available kitten chew toys are another option, including rubber or soft plastic-based toys that are easy to chew and toys that you can put in the refrigerator. To keep your kitty safe, you should stay with them while they play with it, always follow the toy’s directions, keep an eye out for damage and immediately discard damaged toys.
Your kitty may try to chew on furniture legs or electrical cords. This behavior can be damaging to your belongings but, more importantly, may put your cat in harm’s way. “To prevent accidental injury from destructive chewing, cover electrical cords and wires with protective plastic covers,” advised experts at Your Cat. They also suggest placing double-sided tape on areas you want to protect from your kitten’s razor-sharp teeth.

During the fourth week of life, kittens become more comfortable with moving around although they typically still stay close by their mothers.

You can also wait twelve weeks to allow time for the next important round of vaccinations in the kitten timeline.
Kittens are ready to be spayed or neutered by six months of age. Many vets, however, will perform the procedure as early as eight weeks if the kitten weighs enough to safely undergo general anesthesia.

Do 3 Week Old Kittens Need Water
While kittens under 5 weeks old generally get all their water through mothers milk, as they wean onto solid foods they should always be provided with plenty of fresh water. WhenRosalita drinks water, she is really cute.

Eclampsia or milk fever is caused by depletion of calcium circulating in the bloodstream of the queen and is due to heavy milk production. It generally occurs when the kittens are three to five weeks old and most often to mothers of large litters. Early signs include restlessness, panting, and loss of attention towards their kittens. It can progress to tremors, muscle spasms, and collapse. This condition can be fatal in thirty to sixty minutes, so your cat needs to see your veterinarian immediately. Prompt treatment with intravenous calcium will reverse the condition. If the queen develops milk fever, her kittens should be weaned as soon as possible.
When Can Baby Kittens Poop On Their Own
Puppies and kittens cannot pee and poop on their own until they are 3-4 weeks old. Usually, the mother stimulates her litter to pee and poop. Some kittens and puppies may not be able to urinate and defecate on their own when the mother is not around. If this happens, they will need to be placed in a litter box.
