Hills Science Diet Adult Dry Dog Food
Among Hills Science Diets most popular adult dog recipes, Hills Science Diet Adult Dry Dog Food is one of the most popular. Healthy skin and coat are promoted as well as the immune system is supported by it. The ingredients in this product are natural, high-quality, and easy to digest. Its a great alternative to beef for dogs with beef allergies since chicken is the only animal protein. The only problem is that your dog wont find this food very tasty if it isnt a chicken lover.
There is also a canned version of this recipe if your dog does not like dry food. This dog food is recommended for dogs aged 16, so if your dog gets older, they should switch to a formula made for older dogs.
Puppys stomachs and nutritional needs have been taken into consideration in the design of Hills Science Diet Puppy Dry Dog Food. This product contains high-quality fish oil, which is an excellent source of DHA. Puppies require DHA for brain, eye, and skeletal development. In addition, the recipe contains natural ingredients that are easy to digest, and it does not contain any artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors. This puppy food is pretty substantial and suited for the first year of a puppys life.

A Sneak Peek At The Winner: Purina Pro Plan
Our overall winner is Purina Pro Plan dog food. In both the wet and dry categories, Purina Pro Plan outranks Hills Science Diet due to its higher protein content. There is little difference in the amount of fiber in both brands dry foods, but Purina Pro has a slightly higher fat content. While neither brand is totally grain-free, there are variants without grains available. Lets examine these two premium foods in more detail.
Purina Pro Plan Recall History
Several recalls have occurred for Purina products between 2011 and 2013, including for Purina ONE. In March 2016, products from the Pro Plan Savory Meals collection were recalled due to deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. A cat food product from the Purina Pro family, the Complete Essentials Tuna Entrée was also recalled in July 2021 because of the possibility that it contained small pieces of plastic.

Wide Variety Of Foods
Over 40 unique recipes are available for dogs on Hills Science Diet. You can still easily find a Hills Science Diet recipe that fits your dogs breed, life stage, and lifestyle, even if Hills Science Diet doesnt offer as many formulas as Purina Pro Plan. Dog food from this brand is available in both dry and wet forms, and it caters to specific diets, such as sensitive skin and stomachs, weight management, and dental care. Hills Science Diet recipes always list animal protein as the first ingredient, no matter which you choose.
Purina Pro Plan Adult Shredded Blend Dry Food
If your dog is healthy and doesnt have any chronic conditions, this Purina Pro Plan Adult Shredded Blend Dry Food is an excellent choice. This food contains a healthy balance of protein and fat, and it contains plenty of fiber to aid digestion and keep your dog feeling full for longer periods of time. Additionally, the formula contains omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin A to promote healthy skin and coat. The prebiotic fiber and live probiotics, both of which support digestion and immunity, are both included in this product.
Despite the recipe name not containing other meats, this recipe contains poultry by-product meal, fish meal, and dried egg product. As a result, this dog food may not be the best choice if your dog has a sensitive stomach since it contains a wide variety of ingredients that some people find to be controversial.
Puppies need glucosamine and EPA for joint health, so Purina Pro Plan Puppy Dry Food is a good choice. It provides antioxidants that boost a puppys immune system, as well as omega-6 fatty acids and vitamins A to help maintain a puppys skin and coat. Chicken is listed as the first ingredient in the formula, and its intentionally designed to be gentle so that a puppys sensitive stomach can easily digest it. In addition, there are no artificial colors or flavors in the recipe.

Inspired By A Guide Dog
In the late 1930s, Morris Frank, a young blind man, was touring the country with his guide dog, Buddy, promoting Seeing Eye® dogs. However, Buddy, a German shepherd, was suffering from kidney failure, and Mr. Frank asked Dr. Mark Morris Jr. for help. Dr. Morris believed Buddy’s illness was the result of poor nutrition, so he developed a new pet food with his wife, Louise Morris, in their kitchen. Louise and three other women continued making the food in the Morris family basement, storing it in Ball® jars. Raritan Ration B was the forerunner of Hill’s® Prescription Diet® k/d® Canine and is developed for dogs with renal failure and insufficiency. Dr. Morris mailed the food to Mr. Frank, who was traveling the country with Buddy. However, the jars often broke in transit. Morris Frank arranged for delivery of several thousand cans and a hand-operated canning machine to Dr. Morris. His staff then started canning food.

About Hill’s Pet Nutrition
the food is too big
I love this cat food brand and I will be finding a new kibble from hills science diet bc its one of the only brands of cat food I trust but the kibble in this one is too big. Every time I get this bag in particular my cats dont eat it. I mean, they eat it bc they have to but they hate it. I have to add something for them to actually attempt to eat what theyre supposed to and I know its because its too big and probably difficult to eat. Because my cats love this brand of food and eat the other foods we get but the size is ridiculous. Im going to order your other food but maybe consider this size is too big for a lot of cats.
My cats are obsessed
I recently had to switch one of my cats to the Hill’s Rx UTI food while we went on vacation. When we got back, our other cat kept stealing the UTI food and refused to eat her food. So, I switched them to the Hill’s pet indoor cat, and I have never seen them so excited to eat before. Both cats sprint to their bowls every morning and evening. I love the size of the kibble pieces, our cats no longer make messes when they eat! Will definitely keep them on this for a while.
