You will probably have guessed that a newborn kitten will need to be bottle-fed. And you are correct. Kittens need to be bottle-fed until anywhere from 5-8 weeks until their baby teeth come in.
Medical And Dental Care:
Kittens, just like human babies, have weak immune systems. They receive a small amount of immunity from their mother, but not enough to protect them for long. This is why they need multiple inoculations or vaccines. The vaccine we use to protect them against the most common and contagious viruses is called the distemper combination. Note: These viruses are so contagious that we may accidentally bring them in to our cats on our clothes or hands.
Routinely, kittens are vaccinated 3 times: at 6-8 weeks, 10-12 weeks, and 14-16 weeks. If your kitten is older or had previous vaccines, this schedule may change. Your kitten will be vaccinated at 14-16 weeks against rabies, as required by law. Vaccines are annual after this series. Vaccines do not usually cause side affects. Occasionally cats experience some tiredness after vaccines. Other reactions are rare, but if your kitten has a reaction more serious than being tired, call the clinic immediately.

Use your kittens weight to determine approximately how many calories they should be getting each day. It is also important that the gruel is supplemented with some level of bottle feeding, using milk replacement formula. This will help to ensure that your kitten is getting all of the nutrients it needs, especially if he or she is not consistently eating the gruel mix provided. Bottle feeding should take place around three times a day, with the recommended interval between these feeding sessions being approximately eight hours.

A 2 to 3-week old kitten will still need to be fed every 2-3 hours and it should consume at least 1/2 tablespoon of formula or milk during each meal. A 4-month-old kitten should weigh around 4.5 kilograms. This is based on the fact that healthy kittens should be gaining 500 grams of body weight per month.
However, this will vary based on your kittens breed. For example, Maine Coons and Ragdolls will weigh more at four months than average-sized cats.
However, if your kitten is lighter than its ideal weight, you should bring it to the vet for an examination. Your kitty might be dealing with a health problem thats causing it to lose weight.
