History Of Tiny Miracles
Kim Rutherford is a lifelong animal lover, whos caring and kindness to all creatures is well known in the community. She was able to turn her passion for animals into a business that she truly loves. Kims farm is an eclectic mix of furry and feathered friends, and she is always rescuing something new to add to the farm family. Kim and her staff are committed to providing a loving home away from home for your pet!
Kim wanted to help animals by finding them their forever homes. She started her rescue in 2011. Every rescue becomes her child, just like her pet care kids. No matter the situation, Kim wants to save every soul possible. She wanted to save as many animals from kill shelters and puppy mills, as possible. If she could she would take in every single dog, who needs help. The dogs that are lucky enough to be saved by Kim, stay with her until they are ready to find a forever home. When the match between dog and family are perfect, Kim makes sure the rescue is going to his loving, caring, and forever home!

Microchipping With Lifetime Registration
Small Miracles offers low-cost microchipping for your cat or dog. Cats and dogs adopted from the shelter can receive the microchip, implantation and lifetime registration with no annual fees for a one-time cost of $30. We also offer microchipping for all other animals in the community for $40.
Microchips do not hurt your pet, do not require surgery and never wear out. They are inserted with a routine shot between the shoulder blades. If your pet ever becomes lost and is brought to an animal control facility, shelter or veterinarian, your pet will be scanned for a chip. In combination with a collar and tags, microchips give a lost pet the best chance for a happy homecoming. Stop by during adoption hours on Saturdays or call 410-274-3530 to make an appointment on another day.

We are so grateful for Save Me Rescue! Frankie’s has been the best addition to our life. He is so calm, loves to nap in the kitchen and has a keen knack for sniffing out pepperoni pizza in the bushes He is happiest when he is getting belly rubs or lying in mud. We were a bit nervous about adopting a senior but he is just the sweetest and we are so lucky to have him. He did have some dental surgery last year, but is otherwise in perfect health. If any of your fans are thinking of adopting, please consider a senior! Thank you so much to all your volunteers & his foster mom.
Become A Volunteer Or Foster Home
Do you love animals and want to get involved in rescue work? Small Miracles has several volunteer opportunities to fit various levels of commitment.
We are currently seeking volunteers to grow our foster home network. Fostering is a rewarding experience where you temporarily house animals in need in your own home until they are ready for adoption. Foster animals include pregnant dogs/cats, nursing dogs/cats and their litters, dogs/cats recovering from injuries or dogs/cats in need of socialization. We recommend having a separate area in your home to care for foster pets a spare bedroom, bathroom or laundry room works great. The shelter provides all medical care and dry food. Foster homes provide wet food, litter for the kitties, bedding and daily care of the animals. Supplies you purchase to care for foster animals may be tax deductible.
We are also seeking volunteers to walk dogs at the shelter.
Due to insurance regulations, volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Ivy has settled into our home wonderfully. We are really getting to know her well and seeing more and more of personality every day. She has enjoyed getting to know our neighbourhood and nearby parks very well and is walking on a leash like a champ. The best part of everyday is seeing how excited and happy she is to see us when we come home, she has truly become one of the family. Thank you very much to you and everyone at Save Me Dog Rescue.

This summer we lost our 15 year old Poodle/Jack Russell. Even though she received cancer treatment for 15 months, we were not prepared for her passing. We were devastated. We werent looking for another dog so soon after losing her, but when I read Thortons bio, my heart just melted. I knew that he needed us and we needed him. We have a lot of experience with a little dog with bad guts, so his health concerns didnt scare us. It seemed like the perfect fit for all of us.Its been 5 weeks since we brought Thorton home and hes settled right in. Hes been great since the first day and was never nervous about being in a new home. It didnt phase him at all. Hes really adaptable. Thortons healthy, loves to play and snuggle. He has brought us so much joy. We cant thank Jenny and George and Save Me enough for taking such good care of the little man and for allowing us to be his family.

As people carried trash bags full of clothes and other items into the shelter, Liskovec looked over a collection of teddy bears she had bagged up from her own home.
Children can hold them, she said it’s “some kind of security.”
A teddy bear in a maroon dress she had given to her daughter years back had just been sitting on a shelf. She straightened the bear’s skirt and placed it at the top of the bag before loading it into the back of the van.
