What Vaccinations Do Dogs Need For Boarding
Dogs need proof of Distemper, Parvo, and Bordetella annually and Rabies every 1-3 years. Puppies must be ten days past their final round of distemper/parvo vaccination before kennels will accept them for boarding. Vaccinations need to be given no less than seven days before boarding. If this is the dog’s first Bordetella vaccination, it must be given two weeks before boarding.
How Long Before Boarding Does Dog Need a Bordetella Shot?
In general, puppies can receive injectable Bordetella vaccines between 6 and 8 weeks of age and booster shots when they’re 10 to 12 weeks old. Adult dogs generally need booster vaccines for Bordetella in intervals of six months to a year. If this is the dog’s first Bordetella vaccination, it must be given two weeks before boarding.

Dog boarding kennels usually offer discounted rates for 5-, 10- and 25-day packages, with

Group Dog Walking & Doggie Adventures
Some pups walk better in a pack and enjoy their walk much more. If your pup is a social butterfly and we have another pup nearby that enjoys walks with a canine friend, we are able to offer you a discounted rate of $26 for a 45 min walk and $32 for 60 min walk in your neighborhood. Group dog walking is not guaranteed, and is based on the availability of other dogs in your neighborhood. If group walk is not available in your area we might be able to add your dog to our doggie adventure pack, trips to dog parks, dog beaches and Fiesta Island. Adventures can last from 1.5 to 3 hours and cost is between $48 & $60.

Dog boarding and training is sort of like sending your dog to a boarding school, and the dog boarding rates are approx. $1,600 for a four-week block, or $500 to $1,000 per week. Dogs learn how to perform basic obedience tasks like walking without pulling, and the commands sit, stay, come, drop, etc.
Hospital & Vet Boarding Costs
Dog boarding rates at a hospital or animal clinic dont seem to be much different to boarding a dog anywhere else, costing about $35 to $45 a night if the dog has no medical problems, and $39 to $55 if s/he has medical issues or needs to be isolated because of behavioral issues.

Dog Boarding Cost Per Day
The average cost to board a dog by day is $18 to $29, or about $15 for a 4-hour half-day. You drop your dog off in the morning, and he gets to play with other dogs his size, with a quiet time in his own kennel over the lunch period. You pick him up after workusually before 6 p.m., or youll be charged an additional fee for every five minutes you are late. If you dont show up on time, some places will lock the doors at 6 and then charge you for having to board your dog for the night.
What To Do With A Pet While Youre On A Long Trip
Here are suggestions for finding pet sitters.
Ask your veterinarian.
Check out pet trainers and dog-training schools to see if they have recommendations. Ask pet groomers and at pet stores.
Ask friends and friends of friends. Look for retirees. Ask family members or church members if they can recommend anyone.
My husband, Bob, and I have traveled for more than 30 years and have owned dogs all that time. Never once have we boarded or kenneled a dog. I cannot emphasize this strongly enough: people should not board or kennel their dogs.
They also should not fly with their dogs. I shudder when I think of it.
Once you have one or more pet sitter candidates, check them out by going away nearby for two days or so. Call in or message to check up.
Lastly, the person who asked about boarding pets said he was going to be away for two months. Thats a LONG time to be away.
I feel that boarding pets is the best way to go when you want to travel, but finding a good kennel is difficult.
I have been lucky to board my border collies at Woodside Kennels . The kennel was built with advice from veterinaries. It has indoor and outdoor runs and is cleaned every day, and staff will exercise and bathe your dog, if you wish.
I would not leave my dogs with friends, nor would I leave them alone in the house with someone coming in only occasionally to feed them. A good boarding kennel is worth every cent.
