Did you know the world’s first cat show was held way back in 1871? Hosted at London’s Crystal Palace, the event drew nearly 20,000 visitorsand put some of the world’s most exotic cats on display. Deposits And Hold Refunds And Replacements
We require a non-refundable deposit of one-half of the price for that kitten. The balance due, , is due and payable at the agreed-upon time. The Health/Genetic Guarantee/Contract must be read, agreed to, signed, and returned to Pelaqita Persians before any kitten leaves my home. Therefore, make sure you read, understand, and agree to the terms of the Contract before reserving a kitten and sending a deposit.
All deposits are non-refundable.
If a kitten has been reserved and if the kitten buyer cannot pay the balance due, buyer forfeits the deposit and will not receive a kitten.
A kitten is considered “Reserved” for said Buyer and is designated as such on our website or Facebook page after said 50% deposit is paid to Pelaqita Persians. All deposits are considered a “good faith” agreement between Buyer and Pelaqita Persians as outlined below:
1. Pelaqita Persians agree to “hold,” said kitten for Buyer until said kitten can be placed into Buyer’s care after 12 weeks of age, AND the balance due must be paid in full to Pelaqita Persians . Said kitten would not be delivered or leave Pelaqita Persians’ home unless and until all monies are paid to Pelaqita Persians, and the Buyer executes and returns a signed copy of the Health/Genetic Guarantee. If the balance due is not paid to Pelaqita Persians at the agreed-upon time, any deposit is deemed “forfeited” as outlined in Forfeiture and Liquidated Damage Clause.

It would be easier to give a list of those breeds which do not accept calicoes than those that do. Calicoes are not allowed in pointed breeds, such as the Siamese or Himalayan, nor those which allow only solid colors, such as the Bombay, the Russian Blue, and the British Shorthair. Youll find colorful calico cats in the Persian, Manx, Maine Coon, and Scottish Fold breeds, to name a few. Some breed standards even allow tabby patches in their calicoes. Calico is the most popular color pattern in Japanese Bobtails.

CFA registration papers are included with each kitten. Each new kitten owner receives a veterinarian health certificate that includes your kittenâs first vaccines, deworming, fecal testing , ear mite testing, FIV/FILV blood testing, and an overall health exam to confirm the kittens are free of exterior parasites and fungus. For a licensed veterinarian to give a health certificate, all tests must be negative. We also offer a one-year guarantee against genetic defects. Details can be found in our sales contract. My kittens are all litter box trained and handled on a daily basis. All kittens must be at least 8 weeks and one day old to acquire their health certificates. Kittens are not allowed to depart for their new home unless they have received a health certificate.

Persians Aren’t Actually Divas
Thanks to their glamorous looks, Persians have somewhat of a reputation as being divas or high maintenance. While Persians can make excellent pets, their long fur and breed-related health issues can require additional care.
Most cats will bathe or groom themselves however, cats with long coats may require additional grooming, including daily brushing to avoid matted fur, and even occasional baths to be sure to keep their long fur free of dirt and dust. Some Persian owners like to trim their cat’s hair into what’s called a “lion’s cut”or a very short haircut for lower maintenance. Trimming the fur around their paws and hind end can also help keep them clean between grooming sessions, too.
Additionally, due to their flat face conformation, many Persian cats have chronic eye tearing which also leads to staining of the fur under the eyes. It may be necessary to wipe their faces frequently to keep clean. The confirmation of their face also affects their bite and teeth alignment and may make them prone to dental disease. It is especially important to brush their teeth and monitor for signs of dental discomfort for this reason.

Health is first priority at Victorian Gardens Cattery. All our foundation dams and sires are Polycystic Kidney Disease DNA tested negative through Veterinary Genetics Laboratory in Davis, California or the newest lab is through CFA’s catDNAtest.org. The DNA services are performed by Neogen’s GeneSeek Operations lab, the world’s largest animal genetic testing laboratory. The foundation dams and sires are also Feline Leukemia tested negative and Feline Aids tested negative through our local veterinarians. We are a ringworm free Cattery. Any new incoming dams and sires will have the more extensive DNA testing. As of February 1, 2012, all our current and any future dams and sires will be Cardiac Ultrasounded for HCM, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy every one to three years. Dates of each Cardiac Ultrasound can be found on the Dams and the Sires pages. As of November 11, 2017, our Cardiac Ultrasounds are being performed by Dr. Kate Meurs, Cardiologist at NC State Veterinary School and Hospital.
