But seriously, a common mis-cat-ception is cats confusing laundry baskets for litter boxes. Do not throw your cat pee clothes straight into the washing machine, no matter how tempting. If you do this, the odor will set and your clothes will be trashed. Think of the cat pee like itâs smallpox: The smell is super contagious and can be transferred to other clothes in the same laundry load and then youâll need a whole new wardrobe.
Stop and breathe.
Rinse the cat pee stain on your clothes with cold water and blot with towels, just like you would the floor or a piece of furniture. Remember to blot, do not scrub. Throw soiled clothes into a bucket with a ½ cup of oxygen bleach for 2-3 hours. Next, remove clothes and soak in a bath of vinegar and water . Add some baking soda directly to the stain, letting the mix sit for 10-15 minutes. Then and only then can you add the cat pee clothes to the washing machine, set to cold, and run without any detergent. Hang clothes to dry, as the heat from the dryer may still cause the odor to set.

Vinegar And Baking Soda
Vinegar and baking soda are excellent household items for cleaning, and theyre especially good at combatting pet odors.
Start by mixing equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Before you put it to use, test the solution on a part of the carpet thats in an inconspicuous area, such as inside a closet. The vinegar shouldnt discolor the carpet, but its always best to be sure.
Next, wet the urine spots on the carpet using your spray bottle. They dont need to be soaked, so just spritz them until theyre damp. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and then blot the area with a paper towel to remove as much liquid as you can.
Wait for it to dry. You can place a fan near it if you want it to dry faster. Once the spot is fully dry, sprinkle baking soda over it. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and then vacuum it up.
If it still smells after all that, try repeating this step.

How To Get Rid Of Cat Urine Smell Under House
I recommend that you to purchase a small hand held black light. These little lights will highlight the urine and you can at least figure out where the problem lies. If the cat urine is truly under the house you might be able to get rid of the odor using a couple of different products. The best ones I’ve used have a bacteria in them that literally eats the urine. I’ve also used a product called Odorban that was more of a masking type agent, but worked remarkable well. If it’s in the insulation you will have to remove and replace it. If the urine is on the inside of the house I’ve had no luck with any product except oil based kilz paint which seals right over the stains and thus odors. All of these products are expensive, so I really urge you to spend $10 on the black light so you know what you are dealing with.
