Why Are Bella And Princess Being Rehomed
We love our cats unconditionally. We dont believe that it is a good fit with our dogs in the same house. They dont have any issues interacting or fighting with the dogs but they have slowly kept themselves to one room in the house. We think they would be happier in a different environment.
Would ideally like to keep the sisters together if possible. They have been together for the great majority of their lives.

Microchipping is a permanent identification that has contact information embed on it and is implanted under the skin of your pet. The chip has a unique number that is detected by a microchip scanner. That number is recorded in a database registry and holds details about the animal and its owner.

Can I Have My Dog Off Leash What About Service Animals
It is unlawful to allow your dog to be off leash outside of your home or back yard . All dogs must be leashed and kept under control when not contained in a fenced yard or inside of your home.
It is also unsafe, as your dog could be hit by a car, become lost or stolen, or get in a fight with another dog. Allowing your dog to run at large is a criminal offense under the Mesa City Code.
Service animals are required to follow the same leash laws. For exceptions, please visit the ADA website.
Am I Legally Required To License My Pet And How Much Does This Cost
All dogs in Maricopa County are legally required to have their rabies vaccination and be licensed. The rabies vaccination may be good for one to three years however, the license must be renewed annually through Maricopa County Animal Care and Control. We do accept walk-ins when availability allows but appointments are given priority. Adoptions are first-come, first-served. Animals Are Our Mission
Grateful Hearts Animal Rescue is a 501 whos goal is to reduce the amount of unaltered felines in our community using Trap-Neuter-Release . This method of sterilization has proven to be highly successful in stopping the producing of more kittens and maintaining healthy felines. Whether the cats and kittens are friendly, vetted and placed up for adoption or need to be returned to their home, we do whats in the best interest of the animal.
As of November 2020, Grateful Hearts Animal Rescue and Petco Foundation have partnered to allow adoption events and meet-& -greets at Petco locations.
How Does It Work
- Most animals who are not yet adoptable are available for pre-selection. Pre-selection must be completed in person at the shelter no phone or email holds will be accepted. The pre-selection fees are the current adoption fees.
- You will have an opportunity to do a Meet & Greet with the pet.
- If the pet is not claimed during the stray hold, the potential adopter who has pre-selected the pet is required to return to the shelter on the due out day or surgery due out day to process the adoption. If the adopter does not return to claim their new pet, the pet is then placed back up for adoption to the public.

Free Pet Adoptions Through The End Of July
PHOENIX Many animal shelters are overcrowded and trying to make room for more animals in need, so they are offering free or reduced-cost pet adoptions.
The deal is thanks to the BISSELL Pet Foundation, which sponsors pet adoptions to help dogs and cats find forever homes.
Arizona Animal Welfare League
Arizona Animal Welfare League is waiving pet adoption fees through the end of July for all cats and dogs that are a year old and above.
The deal is good for the AAWL main shelter location.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

How Do I Report An Animal Bite
Bite reports are required by law for all bites by dogs, cats, and other mammals, such as ferrets, cows, horses, skunks, bats, etc., due to the risk of rabies. Bite reports are not required for rodent or rabbit bites.
After a report is taken, the animal must be quarantined. If the animal has been properly vaccinated against rabies, the animal may be able to be home quarantined. If the animal is not properly vaccinated or was running at large at the time of the bite, the animal must be quarantined at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control or at a veterinarians office at the owners expense. At the end of the quarantine period, the health of the animal and victim will be evaluated. Any victim of an animal bite should consult a doctor as soon as possible to prevent infections from the bite.

Can I Have Chickens Roosters Or Rabbits On My Property
A total of 10 fowl, including rabbits, are allowed on lots less than ½ acre . Roosters are only allowed if they do not create a noise disturbance. If a noise disturbance occurs, they must be removed to avoid a citation.
Fowl must be contained to your property. If fowl are contained in a coop, the coop must be at least 75 feet from any neighboring residences to avoid a citation. If fowl are contained within a fence, the surrounding fence must be at least 40 feet from any neighboring residences to avoid a citation. This also applies to livestock.
