Comedian Sean Lock’s Final Episode On 8 Out Of 10 Cats Airs To Heartbroken Fans

Sean Lock’s final appearance has aired after the comedian died last August from cancer.

Sean Lock’s last episode of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown has aired and fans are reeling.

The comedian passed away at the age of 58 in August last year after a private battle with lung cancer.

Channel 4 paid tribute to the late comedian at the end of the episode in which Sean was teamed up with Harry Hill against Jon Richardson and Rosie Jones, The Mirror reported.

Before airing, the 8 Out Of 10 Cats account shared that this episode was Sean’s last on the programme.

When the credits began rolling, a picture of Sean appeared on the screen along with the message: “In loving memory of comedy legend Sean Lock, 1963-2021.”

Fellow 8 Out Of 10 Cats panellist Jon also paid tribute to his pal on Twitter.

“Watching Sean’s last ep of Countdown I can see how upset I was knowing he was ill and how much that affected my performance, while Sean himself continued to be effortlessly hilarious,” he wrote.

“A true comic to the end. That’s why he’s trending on twitter and why he’s so missed.”

Fans and viewers sobbed as they took to social media to voice their grief over the comedian.

One user said: “Finally caught up with last nights #CatsCountdown and its so emotional knowing its #SeanLock last episode!! Such a funny man!”

8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Season 4 Episode 2

8 Out of 10 Cats is a British comedy panel show currently airing on E4. It was first broadcast on Channel 4 on 3 June 2005. The show is hosted by Jimmy Carr and the current team captains are Rob Beckett and Katherine Ryan.

The original lineup featured host Jimmy Carr with team captains Sean Lock and Dave Spikey. Spikey was replaced by Jason Manford from the fifth series onwards, who was in turn replaced by Jon Richardson in the eleventh series. For the nineteenth series, both captains were replaced by Aisling Bea and Rob Beckett, although the previous captains remained as regulars on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and the show moved to More4. It then moved to E4 for the following series, with Beckett remaining as captain while Bea was replaced by various guest captains. From Series 22 , Katherine Ryan became a permanent team captain.

As of 17 January 2021, 232 episodes of 8 Out of 10 Cats have aired, concluding the twenty-second series.

8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown is a British comedy panel show on Channel 4. The show follows the game of Countdown, but presented in a comedic panel show format seen on 8 Out of 10 Cats, with the show being a crossover of the two.

The show is hosted by Jimmy Carr, with Rachel Riley and Susie Dent assuming their Countdown roles. The show had two regular team captains: Jon Richardson and Sean Lock until Lock’s death in 2021.

8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown is fronted by Jimmy Carr with regular team captain Jon Richardson.

They take over Channel 4’s the classic letters and numbers quiz which usually airs in the early afternoon, currently helmed by Nick Hewer.

In each episode they’ll be joined by Countdowns resident lexicographer Susie Dent who is in control of Dictionary Corner with a special guest each week. Joining Susie is mathematician Rachel Riley, Queen of the Numbers.

8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown first launched as a one-off mash up in 2012 for a special night of programmes on Channel 4. After proving a hit with viewers, there have been more than 20 series and over 100 episodes of 8 Out Of 10 Cats.

Sean Lock appeared as a team captain throughout the series until this sad passing in 2021.

Regular guests in the series over the years have included David Mitchell, Jack Whitehall, Johnny Vegas, Vic Reeves, Bob Mortimer, Reginald D. Hunter, Aisling Bea, David Baddiel and Alex Horne & the Horne Section.
